Chateau de Raay

We just had a luxury weekend away with 3 of my colleagues and their partners (all courtesy of KLM!) staying in an old chateau that has been converted into a 4 star hotel.

Chateau de Raay is in Baarlo, a little village south of here in picturesque Limburg, and is actually an old knight's castle dating back to around 1250 !!

The weekend package included the accommodation, a welcome drink, breakfast AND a 6 (yep 6!!) course dinner matched with the appropriate wines. We also enjoyed high tea yesterday afternoon and a tour of a local beer brewery on saturday afternoon.

The weather was pretty horrible so we had to find indoor things to do ;-)

All in all a relaxed (and cheap!) getaway.
